Before you buy PC storage
A good SSD can still be the wrong SSD for a particular computer.
- Connector
- M.2 and 2.5-inch drives do not fit the same way.
- Protocol
- An M.2 slot may support NVMe, SATA, or both.
- Length
- 2280 is common, but smaller PCs and handhelds can use shorter modules.
- Clearance
- A desktop heatsink may be too tall for a laptop or compact build.
