Privacy

We collect as little as we can get away with, because data we do not hold cannot be lost, leaked or misused.

What we collect

• If you set an alert: your email address, and the thing you asked to be told about: a console, a capacity, a product and a price. Nothing else.
• When you use the site: our first-party system records anonymous usage events such as which console was selected, roughly how full it was, which capacity was recommended and which retailer was clicked. Free space is stored as a band rather than an exact figure, and prices as a band rather than an amount.
• Aggregate website measurement: Vercel Web Analytics records page views, referrers and broad device, browser and country information. Vercel says this data is anonymous, uses no cookies and cannot identify a visitor across different days or sites.
• In your browser: a random session identifier, the campaign that brought you here, whether this browser has visited before, and whether you marked a setup guide complete. These values do not contain your name or email. Session values disappear when the browser session ends; the visit and setup flags remain until you clear site data.

What we do not collect

• No accounts and no passwords. There is nothing to steal.
• No payment details. We do not process payments.
• No names, addresses or phone numbers.
• No exact free-space figures or basket values tied to a session.

Your email

Used only to send the alert you asked for. Not sold, not rented, not traded. Every message has a one-click unsubscribe. Alerts remain closed until delivery, suppression and contact handling are tested.

Retailer links

When you click through to a retailer you are on their site under its privacy policy. Current retailer links are unpaid. If an approved link carries a code identifying us as the referrer later, we will disclose that beside the link. The code will not contain your email address or storage-check answers.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to see, correct, delete or export the data we hold about you, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information. Write to support@expansionbay.com and we will action any request within thirty days.

Security

We hold administrative accounts behind phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication, keep the number of third-party services to a minimum, and do not duplicate personal data into analytics systems. If we ever suffer a breach affecting your information we will tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
